current need for the upcoming school year:
"We are 466 backpacks shy of reaching last year's distribution numbers, and while the need is much greater this year, we want to ensure we at least serve the number of students we were able to serve last year."
-Beth Levine Cupp, DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
EDU Healthcare has partnered with the Make An Impact Foundation to promote the education and well-being of children in need. Join in and help to outfit the highest poverty schools in the region by donating
to Classroom Central.
On our first volunteer event we packed 250 STEM kits for schools in the greater Charlotte area. These kits include a ruler, pencils, graph paper and a scientific calculator and are a blessing for children who don't have the same school supplies as their classmates.
- Over 50% of our region’s students are living in poverty
- focussing on schools with 85% free/reduced lunch rate or higher
- supply kits and backpacks for their entire student body
- Classroom Central does not receive any government, United Way, or school system funding. We rely solely on the generosity of donors and corporations
Classroom Central supports over 100,000 students in poverty in over 200 schools in 6 school districts: Charlotte Mecklenburg, Gaston, Iredell/Statesville, Union, the City of Kannapolis, and Lancaster, SC.
